New Guest House in Los Pinos, Nicasio

DAC was the geotechnical engineer for the project. The vast reaches of the site parcel starting from the top of a hill extending downslope, gave the project architect the opportunity to create a successful modern design with spectacular view of the opposing hillside. As the house spanned over variable subsurface materials, the foundation system consisted of both drilled piers into Franciscan Mélange and shallow foundation on exposed bedrock.
